Over 14,000 women took part in the opening race of the 2024 SPAR Grand Prix 10km series which was held in Cape Town. Former Grand Prix Champion Glenrose Xaba was victorious on the day, in an event which showcased the exceptional athleticism and determination of the athletes.

She crossed the finish line in 32:17, securing SAR43,000 in prize money and surging ahead in the series standings. Coach Violet Semenya praised her readiness for future challenges, marking a significant milestone in her career.
